Display uploaded binary Image within content editor

Is there anyway to configure the content editor to display the image within the content editor without clicking the preview link?

In the content editor, you will need to write a new Custom Control (in XSLT, I’m sure you remember). This should not be terribly complex, as the URL is already generated for the “preview” link.

I don’t recall ever seeing this done, but I don’t see why it could not be.
