Another problem with my all-purpose location scheme with navigation that is “referring to the directory [instead of] referring directly the file in that directory” is that it doesn’t work right if the landing page of the navon isn’t really an index file. Specifically, I’ve got OrgChart.pdf as the landing page for a navon in the documents folder, and a navigation link to “http://myschool.edu/provost/documents/” doesn’t bring up “http://myschool.edu/provost/documents/OrgChart.pdf”.
