Receive Unrecognized Windows Socket Error when trying to start CM1 Server

Hello,

I shutdown the CM1 server yesterday to zip up my filetree and upload to the FTP. I am trying to restart the server today and I get this error in the CMPercussion.exe window:

2012-12-13 15:04:55 812 GMT : Could not listen on port 1527 on host 0.0.0.0: java.net.SocketException : Unrecognized Windows Sockets error: 0: JVM_Bind

What could be causing this?

Looks like I’m all set with this. Thanks Jonathan

Hi Carrie,
What could be happening here is that CM1 did not shut down completely yesterday, leaving port 1527 in use. One way to ensure CM1 is shutdown completely is to use Window Task Manager to end all Java processes (click on “processes” within the task manager) on the server CM1 is installed on. Then try starting CM1 again, by going to the “Services” menu in Windows, selecting the percussion service, and clicking “Start Service”. Please let me know if you have any follow on questions.
