What are Components meant to do?!?

Hi,

Can anyone tell me what components are meant to do? This is in workbench, XML server tab, configurations, components.

We have been using this to control who sees the top tabs, however, it would be useful to know what pubrole, sysrole, wfrole are, and all the other components which are available.

Can someone help?! is there any documentation about this? What is the intent of this interface?

The components are remnants from an old UI. They are still used for a very few things such as what you mentioned, but generally, they are deprecated and should not be used. They have been phasing out over a period of time and will be totally removed from the product in a future release.
