Applying CSS to "Inactive" Ephox content in 6.5.2

In Rhythmyx 6.5.2 the Ephox editor is only activated when you click on a field, then deactivated when you click away. The problem I have is that when the field is in the inactive state it does not apply the CSS to the content. Does anyone know how to fix this?

I’ve been told by our developers that this is not possible in Rhythmyx 6.5.2.
