Browser issues

Issue #1: Using the Content Explorer with Firefox on OS X 10.5 does not show any major faults; however, a minor fault seen is that if the user has multiple monitors and the browsing window is on a secondary monitor then the Properties Menu for any content item or folder will appear on the primary monitor. Anyone else experienced this issue? Does this happen in the Windows environment?

Issue #2: Content Explorer does not show Properties Menu using Safari 4.0.5 (Mac/PC) and does not work in general with Chrome (Mac)?

It could be easy to say the OS X Java release is out dated; however, Firefox 3.6 on OS X functions without a problem.

Any suggestions? Reported to technical support.

Chrome is not currently a supported browser for Percussion CM System. We support Internet Explorer and Firefox on Windows and Safari on the Mac.

RLJII

Thank you for the response. With the Java Developer Preview by Apple Inc (April 14th) installed I am able to load Percussion CM Content Explorer through Chrome; however, Chrome and Safari are now stuck at the same issue. Cannot execute several of the Properties menu items such as “Edit” or double clicking on a content item will not open the Edit window for that item.

Right now Firefox appears to be the only browser that works with Percussion CM System on OS X for me. :-\

This has been a known issue for a while, I thought I read somewhere that it was related to java (a google search shows other web-based applications have this problem too). It’s somewhat inconvenient but we just tell our users to work in the primary monitor or be aware that the dialog box will show up there.

Issue #2: Content Explorer does not show Properties Menu using Safari 4.0.5 (Mac/PC) and does not work in general with Chrome (Mac)?

I am running Safari 4.0.5 on my MacBook Pro and everything has always worked perfectly for me (I just re-verified that it still works), dialogs and all. Make sure you have the “Block Pop-Up Windows” unchecked under the Safari menu.

Thank you all for your help.

Time for end of day results:

Safari 4.0.5 - Set an exception to allow pop-ups for Percussion CM address - Thanks for pointing out that setting pilotstevek

Chrome Beta - Works with Java for Mac OS X Developer Preview 10M3050+9M3150 installed (Java JRE 1.6.0_19); however, Ephox does not load.

Java Plug-in 1.6.0_19
Using JRE version 1.6.0_19-b04-271-9M3150 Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM

Firefox 3.6 - Working with 1.5.0_22

I am running FireFox v3.5.9 on Windows XP Professional with two monitors. When I run the browser on the secondary monitor, the right-click menu always appears on the primary monitor.

I can corroborate the menu on the primary monitor issue. This has been an issue since at least as far back as 5.7 and is still not fixed in 6.5

I also noticed that if I try to change community in any browser other than IE, the CX fails to load (some sort of java exception) until I log out and log back in.

@Rushing: I’m going to have to test that issue on the OS X side and see if that problem occurs.

// Update: CX loaded fine after changing communities in Firefox and Safari on OS X (Using JRE 1.5.0_22)

As far as the ‘right-click menu’ it appears that using Chrome does show the menu on the correct monitor; however, it is aligned to the left side of the monitor as if it’s unable to understand the mouse coordinates of the monitor.

I forgot to mention that I run in a PC environment for the most part. Windoze XP SP 3.
