Hi, does anyone know if it is possible to encrypt the password used when database publishing using Rhythmyx 6.5.2?
In the example the password is stored as plain text in the -ds.xml file.
Cheers,
Tim

Hi Tim
It’s always been my understanding that you can’t encrypt the db pub password, the passwords that are encrypted are the RhythmyxData datasource and any other JNDI connection.

Thanks James, I thought that might be the case. It’s good to have confirmation.

Starting with version 6.6, database publishing JNDI connections can be created/maintained using the Server Administrator client like any other connection. This will automatically create the required entry in the rx-ds.xml for you with the password encrypted.
Thanks Jay. That will be a good business driver to support an upgrade project!
