Google recently announced that they are going to phase out support for NPAPI. Rhythmyx relies on NPAPI to run plugins throughout the application and is essential for using the application. Starting with version 42 of Chrome (current release at time of posting), NPAPI will be disabled by default, and by version 45 (planned for September 2015) it will be removed altogether. It is possible to enable NPAPI in Chrome by running through this process:
- In your URL bar, enter: chrome://flags/#enable-npapi
- Click the Enable link for the Enable NPAPI configuration option.
- Click the Relaunch button that now appears at the bottom of the configuration page.

However, Oracle’s recommendation is to use an alternative browser, such as IE, Firefox or Safari. Please see https://java.com/en/download/faq/chrome.xml for more details.
