Insert link/asset with file path instead of browsing

We have A TON of assets folders (100+), so when users have to link to a page/asset or insert an asset using the file browsing dialog it takes a long time for it load up. My suggestion is to add a textbox in the dialog prefilled with the previously selected file path and allow the user to type in their own file path and click OK without having to wait for the dialog to finish loading the file structure.

We made considerable performance improvements to the asset browse capabilities in 4.2. This should be much better for you.

Thanks for the reply, Dan. I forgot to mention we’re currently on 3.4.4. I’ll let our webmaster know about the 4.2 update.

I am running the most recent version and I find the browser load speed to be a hindrance on efficiency. I too think that a text field where you could simply update the last used URL for linking an asset or page would be extremely helpful. Otherwise, I am waiting for a good 10 seconds between each link/image insert. That adds up!!
