Is there a way to publish a template without a full site publish?

I was thinking that if I edited a template then published a page that used that template the template would be published as well. Makes sense, no? That isn’t happening so how can I force a template to be published without doing a full-site publish, which is taking longer and longer…

Hi Stuart,

If you make changes to a template and publish a single page that uses that template the changes will reflect on that page alone. The other live pages that use the template will not change until you publish those pages.

This is the same for shared assets. Changes to shared assets will only publish on a page if that page has been published after the change.

A common issue customers run into is when they edit a template, the content on the template is a shared asset. After editing the content that shared assets goes into “Quick Edit” state and they do not approve the asset before publishing. (Assets go through a work flow life cycle just like pages)

You can correct this by finding that shared asset in your asset library and approve it before you publish a page that uses that template/shared asset. (when editing a page that uses a shared asset the asset will follow the page through the Workflow life cycle.)
