Is there a way to restart the database publishing plugin on JBoss?

I was experiencing some problems with database publishing (network connection errors), and am wondering if there’s a way to just restart the database publishing plugin. I ended up restarting the Rhythmyx server, and that fixed the problem, but that seems like overkill, and we would rather not bring down our production editing environment any more than necessary.

I’m not aware of any easy way to restart the publisher by itself in 6.x
