We need to move our environment from Windows Server 2003 to 2008. I’d like to install CMS on the new server with a computer name that is different from the current one. Then I’d like to copy the current file tree and database to the new environment. These are my questions and concerns.
Is this feasible?
Once moved, if we take the old server name in DNS and repurpose it as a CNAME pointing to the new server, will it resolve on port 9992 or will there be a problem with a hostname mismatch?
If we instead rename the server to the old name once the original server is removed from production, does that cause any problem with Percussion CMS?
