Multi-select combo control

A great usability enhancement would be a multi-select combo box. Most all our child tables are used to select single value choices for the parent content. Because most all of these fields have a large number of choices the only control that will work is the dropdown. If there was a multi-value combo control that stored the data as the child editor – dropdown control did that would be a huge time saver and ease of use feature. Then the control could display on the main parent editor window and selections could be made much quicker. It also has to include the ability to order the selections as child table items do.

I uploaded a sample control from another application.

Would anyone esle use this control on their editors?

We’d have uses for something like that. I remember implementing something almost identical in about 1997 on a web interface that had to be used by people using Netscape 2.0. But it should be possible make it fail gracefully on browsers without JavaScript enabled (probably couldn’t do the reordering buttons though.)

BTW, if you use the “Thread Tools” to add a poll to your threads then people would be able to vote on them.

Andrew.

I figured out how to add the poll after I added my new entries. Doesn’t appear you can add the poll after the thread has been started.

I would vote for this to, but the poll has closed :frowning:

When creating polls be really careful as you cannot go back and edit them.

Also make sure you set the end date to be endless so future people can vote!
