New Content items not showing up (5.7)

I’m having this intermittent problem where users create a new content item and then try to add it to another page and the newly created content item will not show up. The item will also not sure up if you do a search for it by using it’s content id. To fix this problem I have to stop and start the percussion service.

Any thoughts as to what might be causing this?

Did you try indexing the item in search? Use this in the admin console:
search index item id (if that works you may need to re-index that content type)

Maverick is correct. If you have Convera full text search configured and running, whenever you create a new item, it must be indexed before it will show up in search results. This process is usually pretty quick, but if you search for it immediately after creating it, it may not be available yet.

maverick, what admin console are you referring to?
