parent item attributes

hi all

i have a snippet variant, and in this i need to access the @psxglobaltemplate attribute of the parent page variant that it will eventually be assembled into.

is there anyway to do this.

basically the snippet is an image map and i need to use variables in this based on the global template used on the page variant so that i can use different language for the hotspot alt tags based on the page it is assembled into.

would be grateful for any help.

ok saw another thread on here similar and discovered that this is not easy if at all possible.

so have put all my variable code in the main template and this is now working.
