We have an issue with promotable versions on Rhythmyx 5.71. If a content item has been created and a “as link” item has been created in another folder then when a promotable version is created on the original item then a promotable version “as link” item is not created for the “as link” item.
Is this by design?

It’s working as designed. If you want to change this behaviour, you have to create a “relationship effect” that runs when a new PV relationship is created. You can then add the new item to any other folders you wish (including the folders that the original item was in).
I believe we have a sample effect or two in the shipping product (I’ll have to check what source we give out for this). If you’re not comfortable with this level of Java, you can always engage us to do it for you.
