We had a suggestion of being able to receive notifications of completed/failed publishes: we’d love to hear of anyone else that would like to see this feature!
As with all ideas on the community, we can’t put them all into the product but we constantly monitor what people are posting and consider the most popular ones.
More specifically we have had requests to provide some form of notification area in application that informs the user / and or sets the Item’s Status when Assets or Pages are published, but also when they are actually Live on the web site.
For example, if a Web Site is using Akamai or CloudFront in front of the Web Server for Edge Caching, even though a Page or Asset is published there may still be a delay before the content appears. This is confusing for Content Contributors.
