Publishing problem with new content type (Rhythmyx 5.7)

We developed a new content type but have difficulties publishing it. The new page will only be published when we select “Publish When… Always” in the System/Variants dialog. If we choose “default” or “(blank)” the page will not be published. Did we forget something ?

Ideas anyone ??

Have you included the shared default variant dropdown field in your content editor?

The “default” option for a variant means that it will be populated in the default variant id dropdown field on the content editor. Once the content item has been saved with a default variant then this will be picked up as part of a full or incremental publishing run. You also have to assign the site to the variant as well.
