Does this forum have RSS feeds at various levels?
If so, please would you enable them?
I’d like to be able to pipe the technical forum into my reader.
Or if authentication is a problem, email notification of new posts in a thread?

VBulletin has automatic RSS feeds, you access them via the URL:
http://forum.percussion.com/external.php?type=rss
As your post implies, this really only works for forums without password protection, so it’s not very interesting in the Rhythmyx forums.
You can subscribe to a Thread, and receive emails either instantly, or with daily or weekly digests. This is in the “Thread tools” link that you will find at the top of each Thread page.
