Beginning with Version 6.1, database publishing was included in the Rhythmyx Implementation Guide. See Chapter 10, “Database Publishing in Rhythmyx”

Yes, you can publish binary files to a database. The datatype of the target column must be a BLOB (or equivalent). Include the binding $row.encoding.<rowname> with a value of base64 for the row to output the binary data to the target column.
