Sandbox question

On this page ’ Upgrade Sandbox Licenses’ where it mentioned ‘A Sandbox license is a temporary license specifically intended for upgrade or patch testing.’

How does this work? Does that required us to get extra servers to setup the sandbox? The reason I’m asking is b/c 5.3 vs 5.4 or the new redesign CM1 will required us to evaluate our existing webpages to ensure it transitioned smoothly. Thank you!

Hi Aaron,

You could install the sandbox on a seperate server or install it on the same server but with a different port range.

It could even be installed on a laptop, the main issue is disk space, memory available, and connectivity to the database server, you would have a sandbox copy of the production database made when cloning the production server to set it up.
