We are wanting to know if we can set a publish date for a specific content item revision. The business case would be that there is a content item with Revision 1, 2, and 3. Revision 1 is currently published. We want Revision 2 to be published tomorrow, and Revision 3 to be published the day after. From my knowledge the revision system does not operate in this fashion; however, I would like to know if there is a viable solution available.

We didn’t, and upon review of Implementing the Rhythmyx Relationship Engine "promotable versions" appears like a solid solution. Thank you for strengthening this post with your advice.
Please note that by default you may not be able to create a promotable version of an item that isn’t in a public state (Not sure how your action menu was set up… but you should be able to make a change via workbench that will allow you to create a PV on say the pending state.)…
