Size overhead for images/ files

What is the size overhead for images and files/pdf.
For example, if we have an image/ file of size 500MB does Percussion uses 600mb of space? Are these images stored in the DB or on the filesystem in the database?

Manvinder,

Percussion CM System does not require any additional space for storing binary files in the database above that from the RDBMS itself.
