Thumbnail generation with hashed files

I would like to be able to generate thumbnails from a hashed image file upload - the PSOThumbnailGenerator doesn’t work with these. Is there an alternative for hashed files?

Answered my own question!  So if you have a hashed file field called img_orig_hash and want to create a thumbnail in img1_hash then instead of the field names you specify img_orig_hupload as the input field and img1_hupload as the output in the PSOThumbnailGenerator exit.  And that exit needs added into the Input Transforms not the Pre-processing ones!

Lovely.

Andrew thank you for your post and even more so answering your own question. Impressive!!!

Slight problem with this - it appears that if you use WebDAV to upload an image using your content type with thumbnail generation as above, the thumbnails aren’t created.

Any official reps with advice on this one?

Good Morning Andrew
Thank you for your post - let me bring this back to the team someone from our team will answer your question.

Hi Brendan, did you have any luck getting an answer on this?

Thanks, Andrew

Good Afternoon Andrew - thanks for the follow-up , let me follow up again internally on this question. I am very sorry for the delay.

Thank you for reaching back out
Brendan

Good Afternoon Andrew,

I did get some more information on your inquiry. The thumbnail issue may be dependent on the version you are running. Percussion did some fixes , as some extensions were not getting run when being processed with WebDav. This may also be an issue only when an image that has never been in the system before is uploaded. The system only stores one one unique copy of each binary. Please email me at brendan_salter@percussion.com with the current version you are on, we may have to investigate further.

Thank you, Andrew, for your patience while we researched your question. Have a great day I will look to get an email from you soon.

Regards,
Brendan
