Upgrade and Patch notification

We just found a patch (by manually searching) that will solve a particularly vexing problem that we have endured for months. Turns out the patch had been available for a while.
I think it would be nice if I could get an email notification about patches and upgrades available for my system. My profile already contains my server’s revision number, if a data field for patch level were added to the profile, it could facilitate automatic notifications on newly available patches in a more timely manner.

Hopefully this is something that can easily be implemented.

We’re implementing an online “customer care” center sometime in Q2. This may provide the information you seek. It will also let you submit and track bug status online.

On a related note, the main thing we’ve seen with patches and upgrades is that what matters is very often the particular features or implementation decisions that were made (e.g. what kind of publishing you do, how it is dependent on sites or not, etc.), not as much the version or other patches you have. We’re looking at how to qualify those kinds of things better.
