I’d like to restrict the visibility of the create promotable version option to just items that appear in the site folder tree. We have an issue with users creating PVs of content in the inbox, this means that it doesn’t have a folder id and wont be published.
I’ve had a look at the action menu usage for Promotable version and there is only item for content explorer - main display window.
You can, of course, create a new “promotable” action and have it check for the sys_folderid HTML parameter. If this parameter is missing, then put up an error message telling him this function is only available in is site folders. (the mechanics of doing this differ by version)
I know this isn’t the ideal solution to this problem.
