“An unknown problem occurred” does not seem very descriptive of what the problem is.
Anyone have any ideas?

The first thing I would check is whether any of the Content Items that use that Slot have AA Relationships in the Slot.

Ok. The issue with rollback errors is resolved for now. The options for publishing: Always, Default, or Never was changed from Always to Default.
