Where are editions really stored in 5.71

Can anyone tell me if there is a physical XML file representation of an Edition that can be edited instead of going through the painfully slow gui (slow as in copying and amending an existing edition that references lots of content lists - not slow as in the system is slow). We use Rx 5.71

No version has an XML representation of an Edition. The Edition editor is a GUI that essentially allows you to edit a database record.

This doesn’t help you in Version 5.71, but Version 6.6 does include an explicit ability to copy an Edition; you also have the option to copy the associated Content Lists.
