Workbench Login Exception

I’m not able to login to our development workbench. I get the following error after submitting my login details:

A problem occurred trying to connect to the server, the following text was returned:
An unknown exception occurred while communicating with the server: java.net.ConnectException: Connection refused:connect

Anyone have any ideas how to get round this? Our Server/DBA is restarting the server to see if that makes any difference but he’s not confident that it will as he’s not come across this message before. Does anyone know if there could be any other underlying cause?

Are you sure that the server is up? That error usually occurs when the server is down, or you have the wrong port (or IP address). Can you access it via the browser?

In any case, restarting the server can’t hurt.
